This is a perfect almost-there project car (with all of the hard work already done)!I purchased this car from the original owner's (85-year-old) son. This is a posi traction 4-speed turbocharged 6-cylinder car (back in the day, considered a poor man's Porsche). This car has black plates, and hasn’t been on the road since 1980; it was manufactured for California and was bought/spent its life in San Diego. The original motor started but the rings were bad, so I replaced it with a new rebuilt engine. Rebuilt turbocharger, carburetor, generator, and brakes; replaced gas tank and fuel lines. Powder-coated original wheels, added new tires. All of the glass is perfect, as well as the window chrome. Original interior. The underneath of the car is rust-free as well as the body. I only had to replace one rear light, all the electrical works. I replaced a very hard-to-find battery for the car. I pulled the complete front end off the car to replace the fuel system, cleaned the front end and put it back in, replacing the front shocks and greasing it. The car has new plug wires, new battery cables, new fuel pump and even has an original spare tire. There are a couple of small parking lot dents. It needs a little interior work (headliner, driver's seat repair) and a muffler (which I couldn't find, but I'm sure there are mufflers out there that would work). The patina on the car is excellent; a clear coat and maybe repaint the roof and this car would be excellent. This car has never been in an accident other than a couple parking lot scrapes such as door dings; the rear bumper has a tiny dent as well as the front bumper. One of the pictures shows a hubcap; the car has four (three of which look like the one pictured, one of which is hammered). All in all this car is awesome, and would be a great project for someone who wants a classic car with all the (hard) work done for you!
